According to Joe himself on the Paul Jones Show yesterday, he has an Official girl friend. Her Name is Sandi Thom. Take a Liston to the twosome.

She has a great voice and I like that song and I'm glad Joe has something to occupy his down time, but I hope he doesn't do anything stupid like Tedeschi / Trucks.

That was cool, I really liked that. I've always been a bit of a Sandi Thom fan to be honest, I think she has a real talent. The place she comes from is only about a ten minute drive from where I live....Small world I suppose

Yeah, we don't want Joe to get into a loving, respectful, committed relationship that he might--just might--be able to integrate with his other passion (music).

I'm not sure if you dislike Mrs. T's music (or singing or guitar playing) or the Tedeshi-Trucks Band itself, but it seems that Derek and Susan are doing something they wanted to do for a long time.

A lot of people seem to hate on her, and I don't know why. She's got great pipes, good guitar skills and not too terrible to look at.
She's got artistic integrity (refused to release her second recorded disc because it didn't match her personal vision).
She has played Austin City Limits, and whatever we might have to say about their recent proclivity to book acts that aren't in line with their original vision, they still have pretty stringent standards.
Double Trouble toured with her, and chose her to be one of the chosen few to appear on their excellent "Been A Long Time" disc. If Chris and Tommy say you're good, you're good.

Derek Trucks is one of those awesome other-worldly guys who amaze and astound, but he said he'd "play a solo after anybody except Sue...she's too hard to follow." Pretty high praise, in my book.
..and at this point, he has to be tired of being considered a "fill in" for a band member that passed ten+ years before his birth. I love Duane Allman and the ABB, but Derek will forever be judged by how faithfully he played the solo in "Whipping Post"...which has to be a whip in itself.
If his artistic vision leads him to tour with his wife or Slowhand or Lady Gaga, that's his perogative.
If you don't like TTB's music, that's cool, but I find it hard to criticize a couple that have stuck together in an industry designed to destroy relationships of every type.

Just watch...after my little rant there, they're gonna break up and make me look stupider than I already do...

I guess stupid move was harsh since they're both very talented. I just like what I heard of Dereks band before the merger. Simple as that. I also have a belief that making any kind of business decision based on emotion usually isn't wise. Joe has a good sound on his own.
