I expect you've buttered a few muffins too.

I've got crumpet rings and even a crumpet pan. (Well, a blini pan, but who's counting?)

Dear oh dear, I was aiming for the Benny Hill level of smut. Just to keep things in the right place for our Pacific/Atlantic friends.
Some people just have to lower the tone though. :)

still chuckling

Hood-a Thought a Bread making thread would have turned into a three pager, LOL. The forum Redeemer is the all time best Fender logo on the top. Now that's what I call saving the day.   And thanks for the slice Mr. Nutter.

Would one ever mix Marmite and Bovril on a single slice of toast?

Maybe with a fried egg (over easy) on top?

O.O

NOOOOOoooooOOOOooooooo......

You cannot mix Bovril and Marmite on bread. Bovril goes in a cup. And is best enjoyed in the terraces of St Andrews on a cold November morning. Nothing else.

I've wholly enjoyed this bread thread.

I'm really into bread.
Are you into bread?

(say it fast)

Well, I agree with Nick that there is not much point in mixing Marmite and Bovril. They are quite close in concept but one is vegetable based, the other a beef extract, so they are sort of matching alternatives. Unlike Nick, I'd also spread Bovril on bread, or use it in a stock for stew. Yum.

Far as eggs are concerned, your mind is beautifully working in the direction of an all-time Classic: soft boiled eggs and Marmite soldiers. The egg (shell on) must be placed in an egg cup and the toast spread with butter and Marmite and cut into fingers - "soldiers". The egg is beheaded and the soldiers dipped into the runny yolk. Originally a nursery dish - but excellent for anyone, anytime. Especially favoured when one is ill in bed. Yum yum.

And also on an eggy theme, Marmite is good beneath eggs benedict. For that matter, I also like replacing the ham with black pudding. Yum yum yum!

...Does black pudding mean anything west of the Atlantic? Oh my: if Marmite is a difficult concept to send to the world I just can't imagine the reaction when they find out what black pudding is. Muaaaahahaha!

Cheers - C

Hahahaha! Blackpudding.... mmmhhhmm! :D

Well since a certain insignia seems to be all the rage these parts, I thought I'd reciprocate and get some more fooling around with flour done.

General pick-shaped F-Logo breadness. And to top it all, I just bought some Vegemite to do a end-all taste comparison. Later -

Oh man - that is so much neater than my effort! Congrats: you lift the cup. 8)

Lawks, that looks yummy. Want a jar of homemade elderflower jelly to go on it?

Regarding Vegimite: I don't want to say anything rude about it. I would certainly eat it - sooner than starve to death in the middle of a wide, dry, dusty desert. Erm - in fact, I honestly have done exactly that. True.

...

... ...

... ... ...

But it sure as heck ain't the REAL THING!

Cheers - C
