For my blues practice month extravaganza, i of course have a section where i practice my chords I find most used in blues, so far ive covered all E and A Shape Barre Chords, 7th Chords, and Triads, now what? I know im going to take a look at Open 7th chords and how they change throughout the neck, but then what?

You definitely need 9ths. They're my personal favorite. Very jazzy sounding.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

My teacher also had me learn Diminished 7ths, 13ths and the 7/9 which is also known as the Hendrix chord, he used it in Purple Haze. This was all for blues. He says you need to be prepared for anything on jam nights.

Besides just knowing the chords, knowing how to play the
variations can make for some interesting blues comping a la
Ronnie Earl.

Blues guitar chords have a distinct sound.

That sound is the Dominant 7 chord (R 3 5 b7).

Dominant 7's are Major Triads with a flat 7.
