So saturday, I took my 66 jazzmaster reissue to my buddy Dan, so he may take a look at my action and the tremolo arm. I just couldn't get the action as low as I wanted and my tremolo has nil to zero dive in it. Well, he took a look and said "here, play this and tell me how it feels" and handed me an original '61 jazzmaster! I fooled around and said "that's how this guitar is supposed to feel!" He took my JM to the back for some minor adjustments and told me to plug the '61 in and have some fun while I wait. Man oh man, that guitar sounded so damn great and felt as if it were built just for me! I wet my pants and got a semi-chubby just holding that guitar. I think I'm ruined for any other guitar now!

I know the feeling you got.Once while a buddy and I were hitch hiking across the province we stopped into a small music store in a small town on the west coast.On the wal was hung a battered but very playable '58 Jazzmaster and the guy only wanted $150 for it sadly He had no case for it and I didn't want to lug this gem across the province without a case so I had to leave it there.
