I recently acquired a Fender Stratocaster 'Squier Series'. I'm sure it's 1993 by the serial # being MN3114460 and it was made in Mexico because it says it all on the headstock. I'm wondering if someone could tell me more about this guitar because it was purchashed at a garage sale several years ago and the lady said it was custom ordered.

I've researched all over the internet to find out more about the guitar but keep running into a brick wall basically. I found one identical to mine on youtube but the only difference is mine has a white humbucker and the guy in the video,he has a black humbucker on his guitar.

Here is the link of the guy on youtube with his guitar and mine is exactly the same except for the humbucker. The humbucker on mine is white and yes mine has a 3ply pick guard. I would have uploaded pictures on here but I can't figure out how but hey it's my first time here,I'll figure it out.

In the video he stops playing and shows all of the guitar and it's just like mine except he has a black humbucker and mine is white.

Here's the link below!

If anyone could tell me more about this guitar it would much appreciated !

Nothing official.

I have one and went into it quite a bit. All I can surmise is that when Fender took over the Mexico Ensenada plant from Squier in 1990 they were left with a load of hardware that it would have been unprofitable to ship to the new Squier plant. So they produced a range of budget Fender guitars to use up the hardware they had lying around.
Bought mine new for £200 in 1995 from what was a very reputable dealer at the time.

Another thing to consider is that Fender Mexico didn't start cutting wood till 1999. Where did those bodies and necks come from?

Rufus,

Does your guitar have 'Squier Series' on the headstock, and HSS with non-adjustable pole pieces in the bridge humbucker pickup?

If so, then I used to have the same model years ago. I have since sold it but still wish I hadn't. As the model that was the pre-cursor to the 'Standard' line, they were a good guitar :)

I know the headstock picture is blurry but it says ' Fender Stratocaster ' Made In Mexico "Squier Series" serial #'s MN3114460. This is NOT my guitar in the pictures but it is identical to mine except my humbucker is original and white.

Thanks Guys,
Rufus~

Thanks Nikininja, Your guess is good as mine. From what I've found, is that Fender shipped the wood to Mexico and it was original Fender wood used for these guitars. The only difference was they used asian electronics on them so they could sell them cheaper and make them more affordable to the masses of Fender Heads <--Fender lovers...lol. I was told when I got this guitar that it was custom ordered but idk for sure. I was also told that if it was a custom order, it would have been shipped from Mexico to California for the customization.

Thanks for the info,
Rufus~

Bad news there.
If it's got an original Floyd on it, the trem is probably worth more than the guitar, :(

Like I said I bought mine new in 94/95 for £200. They don't appreciate. I'd be asking for £150 for one in good condition.
