I just spent an hour on the phone talking to my buddy and longtime bandmate after being out of touch for a couple of years due to our conflicting schedules and living pretty far apart.Like myself he is in the middle of renovating his music room and is getting rid of some old but mint condition gear.Among the gear is a Tascam 8 Track Mini Studio and a Soundcrafter 12 channel mixing desk that we used when gigging.He mentioned some other goodies but these 2 really stuck out.
He said that he'd rather I have it that to sell it because he knew that I didn't have any recording gear and that I'd make good use of it.I started playing in bands with this guy when he was 14 and I was 15 and we continued playing in bands together until the last one we had back in the 90s.He is coming up soon and we're going to get together and jam some of the good old stuff that we used to play years ago and of course the best thing now is that I can record it for posterity.Anyone else out there have life-long musical comrades in arms?

I have a few musical friends. But we're still kids, so we might have a long time ahead. But, I got some great gear for free from some neighbors who were cleaning their basement for a remodel. They said I can come over and clean their garage and keep any cool stuff I find.

over the past few years i came across some old musical friends from grade school back in the 60's

one was a fellow guitar player i played with years ago. he still gigs, and i sit in with his band occasionally.

i saw the bass player in my old band a few years back. we hadn't seen each other since the mid-70's. my parents wound up buying his old house. before he moved we sat and brought back some old memories.

one of the best musicians i knew can no longer play. he is an extremely talented trumpet player who had some medical conditions.
