Does anyone know what else on the market the Blacktop Humbuckers could be compared to?

I really don't know, but the blacktop strat has coil taps. I would buy it if I had the money.

I'd have to say.. I don't know what to compare them to myself. Our other guitar player Ryan bought the Strat, and the only way I can describe them is a humbucker that has that very Strat-like sound. It's like no other I've run across yet. Just imagine the best of what we all like in glassy Fender treble with full, rich, bass tones of a PAF, and that's what they sound like. Clean, clear, glassy, powerful pickups that don't lack rich full flavor either.

To hear those pickups through my Fender HRDV was pure heaven. I've already told Ryan that I consider the Blacktop sound to be the envy of just about any guitar or pickup manufacturer I can think of. Whatever Fender does to make these, they should never stop.

The cleans of these pups are absolutely wonderful, rich, clear...yeah, what you said. And the bridge pup is killer for distortion. Every amp that I've tried with the BT sounds amazing. MB, JCM 800, HRDlx, BJr, DRRI, Tiny Terror, all sound great.

And, yes, these pups are 4-wire for coil tapping. Position 2 is both inner coils, and position 4 is outer neck coil.

Five blade switch, Position two and four give single coil operation.

Reply: They do. Check the specs on the fender website.
