Maybe, it is a 2 tone sunburst and I am not sure of the pickups.

My serial number is R49003.

If you have any info on this guitar please help.

Bravo pour ton site guitarmotel.com. C'est interessant de voir tout ces modèles.
Merci Alain

Yes it is a CS adey.

I contacted the Custom Shop for another matter concerning this guitar.

Now I just want to understand the concept of not giving a certificate of a limited edition guitar when it is one.

Especially if we pay for a limited one and also if I want to sell it.

Fenders FSR guitars are limited productions and have no certificates.

FSR stands for Factory Special Run, they are guitars that are made for a shop owner or a group of shops by Fender to the specifications asked for by Music shops. These guitars are limited to a production amount.
This is one such guitar called a Fender Straight Six Stratocaster limited to 831

I have always found it puzzling just what a company means by limited edition or Special Factory Run when no exact numbers are ever given.Gibson/Epiphone is notorious for this-I have several Epiphone guitars that are "Limited Edition" yet there is nothing in the sales literature, website or whatever that denotes the true number of guitars produced. You will never know if your limited Edition is 500, 5,000 or even more, given that totalproduction numbers of a model could be in the tens of thousands. The only Epi I have that I know has a given production number is my 1965 John Lennon Casino,I know that there were 1965 of these world wide and that mine was one of the first 50 yet with my Custom Shop Firebird I'm shite out of luck.

Fender too is also guilty of this yet I don't think in such a degree as Gibson.I don't know the number of Limited Edition Blonde Blues Jr.s that were made nor with the Jimmie Vaughn. It would be next to impossible to predict future values for the purpose of speculation with these either vague or non-existant production numbers. So unless you have a specified production run or a on-off Custom Shop guitar calculating future value or collectability is little or nil.

Looks to me that the Big companies and creating rarity to charge more for a guitar and to boost up the sales.

At least if they provide a limited certificate, you can sell the guitar at a decent price after.

Thanks for your post guitslinger,
Chris

I had never seen a certificate for a Fender Special Run guitar until I bought this lightly used American Vintage 1961 Thinskin Reissue Strat.

I think it was a special order for Wildwood Guitars so that's probably why a certificate was included. I'm still waiting to run into the original owner to confirm that.
