Throughout its history, Fender has always made a special point of welcoming new players to the family by offering entry-level instruments of remarkable style and substance (such as the Duo-Sonic™, Mustang® and Musicmaster® models), with great sound, classic looks, solid performance and eminent affordability. The new Modern Player series continues that great “my-first-Fender” tradition, with thoroughly modern features and several distinctively unconventional new takes on our most revered instruments—all with outstandingly attainable value.

More details here and here!

Andertons in the UK has the diagram of the Marauder's five pickup combinations on their website. I find it odd that the only two-pickup combo is the MP-90 with just one coil of the Triplebucker. You would think they'd let you also combine the MP-90 with at least two humbucking coils. Three of the five combos are all Triplebucker alone, and the fifth one is the MP-90 alone.

It will be interesting to see a demo of this one.

Hmmm...I dig the looks of the 'burst MP Jag w/P90s and no guard!

The Modern Player Marauder is a completely different beast compared to the mid-to-late 1960's original.

No hidden pickups beneath the pickguard, no that silly complex switching - at last a serious move to revive a model that failed to attract die-hard Fender enthousiasts.

IMO the bridge humbucker looks pretty much to a Floyd Rose distortion pickup.

Once you own 'the name' you can do most anything with it. Consider the number of reincarnations of the Chrysler 300 automobiles over the past 60 years.

Very curious to know what's going on beneath the pickguard of the Modern Player Tele Thinline Deluxe. Is it routed specifically for P90's, or does it have the same routing as it's cousin the Classic Player Tele Thinline Deluxe (sized for Wide-Range HB's)?
