The one that's not even round. To be fair, you have your own rules for playing with oval shaped balls: no reason you should try hard at our version of that game.

My team is through to the quarter finals with a reasonably unblemished record. That is all due to change on Saturday when we will get spanked humiliatingly by France... :?

Cheers - C

BTW:

To SA (Mister Armadillo, sir Image ), just for once one of my thread hijacks might have an honourable ulterior motive. I'm kinda suggesting that if we're worried about the direction the Forum is taking it just requires the nice people to get on with talking to each other in a friendly way and so setting the right tone for the place. In my experience here the tiresome ones then either change their ideas or drift away.

And meantime I can't think of finer therapy than breaking out that tasty resonator of yours and having at it with a bottleneck. Nuttin' soothes the soul better during those dark three in the morning spells, I believe. And nobody knows better how to deploy that instrument than an Armadillo, I just happen to know! 8)

Share and enjoy (isn't that right, Amerigo?).

Cheers - C

Yes yes yes.

Well put.

Cheers

Just my few comments..

This is an excellent forum. Lightly - but properly - managed, and full of genuine, positive people with an endless enthusiasm for those things that bring us all together. The Troll to Valid Contributor ratio is pleasingly low - much lower than I have encountered on similar sites. I think people generally recognise that they are a part of the offical Fender set-up and behave accordingly.

As a knowledge and experience resource, it is probably unsurpassed. But these welcome resources are tempered with a level of humanity and humour that ensure entertainment and enlightenment are both present in equal measure. Pehaps even some pathos at times.

It is inevitable that you become drawn to the posts of certain individuals (I won't name names so they may be emabarassed. Suffice to say that I'm glad there is good UK representation).

Good luck to all, and thanks for those moments when I've felt the genuine power of a good community.

Thank you, Sir Ceri (At ease, no need to salute)…

You are one of the guys who I mentioned by name, due to the fact that you are able to be informative, humble, funny, and interesting all at the same time—all while chewing gum, re-shaping a burned-out Stratocaster and pouring a cuppa!

Your diversionary tactic is well-received and appreciated, even though I know nothing about the state of the sport of (non-American) football. GO ____________ (your favorite team here)!

I probably let the darkness of my mood get the better of me the other night with my last few replies to The Musos Mangler…and you must be psychic or have a spy cam at my house, because that’s exactly how I decompressed—running through some open G excursions on the Chrome Plated Vibe reso. The dog peeked around the corner into the man cave with a look like, “Do you realize it’s three AM?”
…and you overestimate my talent on that particular instrument. I am flattered and humbled at your compliment.

For your service here and around the world, I am using all my authority to declare you to be an Honored Member of the Monkey Hips Social Club with all the privileges and recognition that entails.

It’s not much, but at least it’s something…you can see the oddball things I hang/hung/hanged on the wall, including framed Armadillo Child artwork, autographed set lists from various groups, Fender tin signs, concert posters both purchased and [ahem] *requisitioned* from the walls of events I have attended, University of Texas Longhorn and Texas Christian University Horned Frog memorabilia, vintage tube radios, assorted amplifiers, vintage harp microphones and a plethora of musical instruments as well as dozens of representations of the Honorable Critter/Official Small Mammal of Texas, the Nine Banded Armadillo.

Your membership card will be forthcoming...

Tsk tsk SA. It goes like this:
GLORY, GLORY MAN UNITED!
GLORY, GLORY MAN UNITED!

There now you know something about (world expect America) football. :D

Ok, so now I know the name of one team! I'm on my way!

I know that Rod Stewart mentioned "Celtic" and "United" in "You're In My Heart" thirty-odd years ago, and they're both football teams. I watched "Bend it Like Beckham" a few times...but honestly, that was mostly for the presence of Kiera Knightly Image.

I know the basics of the game itself, but I don't know which team is the rival of whom or the history of teams/players/coaches/etc.

Lately, I haven't even watched any American (pro or college) football, which is my favorite sport to watch...dang it, I should have finished college the first time, this working full time with a family while taking classes is killing me...
