I've seen many people on here complain about him, but I know I'd be THRILLED if I could play guitar like he can.

He is one of the few real guitarists left and yeah he is a bit mad but he is trying to keep the rock and roll alive in my opinion :D

I have always liked his playing and songwriting. Bummed the new album is delayed.

I agree with the whole J mayer thing. Great blues guitarist, absolute jerk and mouthing off about things that only makes him look worse.

The most exciting performance on the crossroads 2010 was Gary Clark Jr. I remember watching that and going WOW! And what a song for him to sing with that performance . . .You gonna know my name!

Quite the fan arent you?

No he really is a great talent. I think he catches a lot of flack for the racist comments and things like that but he has been so quite and out of the way. Did an interview with Mark Hoppus about getting some things back in order.

What did he mouth off about?

A recent one was something about his d**k being racist, I believe.

Mayer and Clapton were the two who got me into guitar when I was younger. (not too long ago hahahaha. been about 5 years now since I started)

He's made many bad choices in interview situations (the RS article of last year in particular) but he is still my hero. got to check out the original Black1 prototype when I was out at the Custom Shop. amazing guitar.

John Mayer is phenomenal guitar player, and a pretty legit singer too. He just has a bad rap for things he's said in interviews (The racist comments were made when he was a little drunk). He's learned a bit more to not say things for attention recently.

I love his blues guitar stuff the best (John Mayer Trio ftw!)

Who Did You Think I Was is his best imho.....

Women, racial comments, X rated sites where he hangs out. You don't have to look far to find out.

I think Mayer is a great songwriter and an excellent guitar player. He has damaged his career with some very dumb comments made in multiple interviews. I didn't think I should post any links on this site because of the nature of those comments.

I used to be a Mayer hater, but after seeing his performances on a couple of the Crossroads dvds I have a lot of respect for his guitar playing. I still am not much of a fan of his singing voice though.

John Mayer probably got light-headed with his success.
Good for him if he is rectifying.

Funny thing, you go out there as a song writer, and if it turns out that people love your music, now everyone wants to know what you think of this and that. I have absolutely no interest to know what Mayer thinks about anything, except tone. Tone he knows. The Stratocaster he knows.

When I heard his tone on the Strat, he caught my attention. All these great guitar players that I admire so much...and yet I don´t dig their tone!

I respect artists that do not give interviews. 8)
