Finally got some spare time to put together some cable and some jack tips I've had knocking around for ages.

Pretty basic LEEM instrument cable, but the jacks are awesome. All Neutrik, all different.

First up:

Image

Neutrik Silent Plug. They've got a little circuit breaker at the top that just cuts the signal as soon as you pull it out of the guitar. Amazingly useful- not like Planet Waves' button system, this is simply a case of pull-it-and-done. Like something else I could mention.

Image

Neutrik Standard Plugs. These are the lowliest here, but are still about 5,000 miles above many other jack designs. Like the others here, they feature a solder bucket to put the hot wire into and a very well insulated spot for the ground wire. Really solid design.

Image

Neutrik CrystalCON Plug. These are the flashiest and my favourites. 8) they've got Swarovski crystals embedded into the jack socket, all gold interior, sound fantastic. They came in their own little presentation boxes and a drawstring bag to hold it in- which seems void now they're attached to a cable. however, I'll keep the bags. They look cool.

Here's how they all look plugged into the guitar:

I think the Silent Plug is the ugliest, but it works really well. Will probably look good with ol' Red. Easily the best to look at (although a bit Rhinestone Cowboy-esque) is the CrystalCON one.

Job done. A pleasant afternoon!

Van Damme cable, Neutrik ends. Preferably two right-angled jacks. Standards would do you fine. Unfortunately the Crystal bad boys aren't available in right angle. ;)

I would do 2 right, but the speaker jack on the cab is pretty deep. Also, I fired it up for the first time in 10 years (previous owner hadn't used it for touring in that long) this morning. I don't have a long enough cable for my guitar so I got a lot of feedback.

Cheers. :D

Just completed an 8-channel XLR stage box too. Cleared out all the random parts that were living in my wardrobe!

----Danny,

Cost to me wasn't too bad, seeing as I live about 5 miles from Neutrik UK's headquarters. Cost to you though...

In all seriousness, if you want a crystal-encrusted XLR cable, that can be sorted out. Doubt I'll be using the connectors!

Good job VladSoilerOfCarpets! You must be relieved to have completed that task. I am raising my beverage to you now. "To VSOC a cable maker of the finest order!"

Vlad that is some nice work! I don't think I'd use the sparkly girlie ones myself. LOL
