Okay....here is a question that I'm hoping someone can help me with. Does Fender keep information on file regarding owners and serial #'s? We sold a 1992 Telecaster and it went somewhere in Arizona...we would like to locate it and the current owner, but do not know the information. Anybody know what the best way to do this would be????

TIA

Have you tried calling or contacting Fender directly? Or maybe if you have a Fender dealer representative, they may be able to help you out.

But then again, they may not want to give out that information to other parties due to privacy issues. Its does not make sense, but for example, at the store I work at, we can look into how much someone has left on their account balance if they are there in person, but if the person calls up and requests for us to look into their account balance, we cannot look it up and tell them over the phone due to privacy issues....

I think they would probably have the information if the person registered the guitar but I don't think they would give that information out to anybody.

If Fender does have the info, but can't give it to you, maybe they can give your info to the owner. Let the owner decide whether or not to call you.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I did call Fender, but they told me that they only register the guitars for marketing purposes and wouldn't have the information I'm looking for. I'd like to put out a big search for the 1992 Fender Telecaster that was purchased from Ebay about 10 years ago from New York State. It is an ash body with clear coat. It has lace sensors and locking black tuners. I believe it shipped to Arizona???

Does anybody know where best to put an ad such as that to reach the most people????

TIA
Loretta
