Just curious as to the first song you guys learned.

My first was this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STI6C3pVWHY

Still one of my favorites to play due to the energy and the sound. It's simple and beautiful.

"Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" or as it was called in my Mel Bay Method Book 1, "Sparkling Stella".

That's the standard for most of the students in guitar classes at my school. I think you can learn more from just sitting alone, playing your time away, rather than the class. (based on what students have said to me. They said the teacher isn't very enthusiastic or encouraging and is harsh when something is played wrong)

Pipeline by The Chantays - first song I learned and first song I played live in 1965.

As was common at this time, I'm afraid the boys might be faking it...

No kiddin' LOL. "Twinkle..", Mel Bay book, Black Diamond Strings! Blasts from my past too.

I think the first rock song I learned may have been Louie Louie. Never could understand the words. And yes, "Pipeline" was a biggie too.
