I miss The Ramones more than any other artist :/

I wish they were still around. Joey's death was like the 9/11 of my life (considering I've been listening to them quite literally all of my life, I can remember being in kindergarten and air drumming Blitzkrieg Bop)

Hi Fender Guy.
I have an autistic child. He´s 10 years old now and beginning to learn guitar. I keep telling him he should try a mini strat but he is very attached to a regular strat, which is too heavy for him. How old are you and what would you suggest to get around this?

Im 13 and i play a regular scale strat just get him a squier affinity there not to heavy. Mine is a HSS affinity in metallic red and its not heavy for me. I can take heavy guitars too

And you have an attention deficit disorder that goes along with it. BTW, there are a few fantastic musicians with asperger/autism.

I think you're just making it up without knowing much about it.

Cheers

David

My 10 year old is learning right now on a regular strat and is doing fine with it. I got a sturdy strap which seemed to help him.

I just recently noticed this poster after he posted over in the Ask Mike Eldred section.

Firstly, I'm going to say is this - if you truly are Autistic or have Aspergers, you shouldn't use it as a reason for people to stop picking on you or feel bad for you. As a musician diagnosed with Aspergers at a young age, people like that have to be one of the few things in the world that truly anger me. I've worked for years to get where I am today, and I don't think too highly of people who use Autism as some kind of crutch or excuse.

Now I don't know any details other then a few of your posts, but here are my suggestions for you:

You don't have anything to prove on forums. Forums are places for people with common interests who want to share their knowledge and experiences with each other (my opinion) Obviously if you say you went somewhere, met someone, or bought a new piece of gear, pictures help corroborate a story.

Be yourself. No need to try and impress people. Make members like you for who you are.

Before you submit a post, re-read it once or twice to make sure it doesn't come off the wrong way (as in offensive to members, etc.)

Also for clarification, I AM NOT picking on you. This is me voicing my opinion as a Autistic musician, and my views on the subject of previous posts you've made. I'm sure you're a good kid just wanting to make friends and show your love for Fender Guitars.
