What are you folks learning to play at the moment?

I'm about half way through "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" (Jeff Beck/Stevie Wonder tune) on electric. Learning it from a tab.

But tonight I just watched David Suchet as Poirot in the absolutely brilliant adaptation of Agatha Christie's "5 Little Pigs". The piano music was haunting, so I looked it up. It's Erik Satie's "Gnossienne no 1" and I found John Williams and several other classical guitarists playing it on Youtube. So that's my freetime spent for the next week or so. I don't have the sheet music but fortunately I have 2 good ears! Perfect timing for me - I haven't had my classical out for a few months and I was missing it.

Good luck with whatever you might be struggling with..

I'm learning a combination of every song ever made on guitar.

Amongst other stuff, I'm working on the bass line for Dragging the Line. The triplets are challenging.

I'm sure this one will bring memories to just about everyone:
Intro to Red House.
I've got all the notes, I need to work on timing and presentation. I'm lovin' the major/minor menagerie.

Howdy!

I've been learning about modes. Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian and Locrian. It really opens up the fret board and makes for some interesting solos (apart from Locrian which sounds bloody awful whatever key you play it in). :D

I'm learning to use the "Foe" function so I can ignore people that annoy me on this Forum...I wish that function worked in real life, too. :P

As of right now, I'm trying to finish a song that has a great opening riff and guitar solo but no "hook" (outside of the opening riff)...I'll probably just play a variation of the opening riff throughout the song as the hook.

Is it in F sharp? F sharp.

The song is in B flat...or A sharp. :D

Drummer thinks it's fine the way it is; I think it's too empty/boring without something more.

What do you have against Sharp? You keep saying, "F Sharp, man! Just F him!"
I'm confused. :?

I'm working on the five notes from "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" as loud as I can in the backyard at night with no reponse. Maybe my timing is off. :-)
