There's 2 old Chargers sitting near my house. There's a 67 (based on the body) and a 69. I want the 69.

If you were caught doing 142mph on one of the motorways here, you'd go to prison for so long that by the time you came out, everyone would have flying cars. Seriously- you do proper time here for going too fast. License lost for at least a year, sometimes more, fine can be anything up to and including $7,700 (£5,000)...

You got off SO easy. I'd kill for laws that slack. The last time I got nearly caught, it was doing around twice the limit here (limit was 70). Went past a police car at the side of the motorway, about 4am. Just kept going, then turned off at the nearest exit and found my way home via smaller streets... much safer option. The safest would be not doing it in the first place, but we're human and we crave the adrenaline rush- it's why we have guitars, hoping that one day they'll carry us onto the stage and the adrenaline kick will be so huge, you'll have dinner plates for eyes.

Hope your band situation gets sorted out. Be more organised, and get out of the house early next time!

Was 142 MPH worth all the B.S. you went through? It's a wonder they dident throw the book at you. In the State of Washington you would spend at least 24HRS. in the Slammer. To bad you lost your spot with the band. Maybe they will have a change of heart.

----Danny,

It was far from worth it I was in a rush and was not thinking about what could happen at those speeds

Sorry for your speeding conviction but doing 142 in a 55 was really tempting fate and you really made some cop's day.Even though I routinely go way way over the limit when the road is clear I have only gotten 2 speeding tickets in my 40+ years of driving-knock on wood.
It's interesting to know that Germany with no real limit on its Autoban has such a low MVA rate when compared to North America.Yet if the German rules of the road were brought into effect over here our roads would become paved abbatoirs. There is absolutely no instruction in high speed driving and/or collision avoidance in our driving schools and driving schools should be required in order to qualify for license.Too many kids these days are virtually sent to their slaughter because Mom and Dad taught them wrong from day one.
I used to take both my daughters out on icy bare parking lots and show them how to brake and turn properly on icy roads and where they now both live in Labrador that instruction was invaluable to them.

That old '74 Vette... original paint and all.

I've always been pretty lucky when it came to getting speeding tickets - the last one faded off my driving record about 12 years ago. I still like to go fast, but not as fast as I used to... And yes, this car is just as hot as it looks and sounds like an F-14 at top end.

+1!

Our last Stingray was a '73 L82 that was originally that same color when it left St. Louis (it'd been repainted in Can Am White by the time we bought it).

Smooth ride, Dennis!

I hate seeing my friends get speeding tickets. One time my friend actually hit a cop car doing over 170 in a Supra. What me and my mom drive is a 2000 Holden Commodore VX sedan

I have always wondered why it is so easy to get driving and gun licences (and if you are living in California weed prescription). Don't get me wrong I am a gun lover my self but I had to work for my right to have guns (8-10 hours class for A-Level gun licensce plus 6 hour class for hunting licensce, plus practical test at a gun range under supervision) and a took mantadory 6 month driving lessons and two months parental supervision driving for the right to take the drivers test and here you only get two year driving permit and then take another test.
I believe that all that work made me appreciate my rights to drive a car and own guns.

Here in the States, owning a gun is a right, no license, registration or work required, whereas driving is a privilege requiring a license.

Ouch. You were hauling lol. I got busted for an improper right turn last summer on the way to play a round of golf with a friend. Bad round. The judge left me off with the court fee because I am known as a good guy in the community and he didnt want to hang a heavy fine on a college kid.

The one and only ticket I have ever received was in Columbia SC. Got nabbed for doing 2 miles over the speed limit in the city...the cop was litterally sitting at the bottom of a hill at a Dunkin Donuts! He didn't even say anything too me, except "Let me see your drivers license and registration"...walked back to his car, sat writing the ticket for 20 minutes, then came back up to the window and said "Sign here"...needless to say the cop was a FAT POS...yes I was speeding...but 2 miles an hour? Must have been a slow day in Columbia!

CRGM...nice Vette, and I am digging that color! Not sure why...have had this one up to 135 but never got caught! Must have been Karma for the 2 miles over ticket!
