I got 3 speeding tickets in one summer. I bought a VW Passat 1.8L Turbo one year prior and that summer I was really feeling the car and where the sweet spot to shift was. I got hit at 2 speed traps (the same location) and the 3rd time I got tagged by an undercover cop. All 3 times I had my radar detector on. The first time it went off, but it was too late and the other 2 times it didn't even go off! After that I pulled the radar out of my car, sold it for $10 bucks at a garage sale and have driven only 10km over the sped limit since.

If it'd been within Roseville city limits they prolly would've locked you up. They're pretty brutal there.

What's the procedure for getting your vehicle returned?

Arjay

basically go to the impound lot and pay to get it out

Around here, if your car is impounded, you must have a valid DL to get it out. In my youth, driving with a suspended license and expired tags, I was arrested and car impounded. After being OR'd the next day, I had a friend with a valid DL get my car out of impound, and I took it and headed home, then I got pulled over and arrested again. It was the same judge that I just saw for my OR the day before, he was pissed and needless to say, no OR the second time.

This is where a Valentine One would really pay off.

Hey D3!
Now you can give lessons on speed guitar! 8)

Once down here in Mexico I was pulled over for speeding on the interstate.
They got me away from my car. Suddenly the cop goes, -What´s this!
He had planted something on me, a tissue with some weird looking seeds.
They kept me at a station for 2 hours. I held my ground.
When they let me go, the speeding was no longer an issue. No ticket.
If you come down here, don´t bring your Deluxe Strat. Your old squire will do. :P

If you were doing 142 mph and had 18 miles of straightaway, the cop should never have caught you. If you are doing 60 mph and a cop is one mile behind you, to catch you in a mile he has to be doing 120 mph. Work that out with you at 142 and the cop starting at a dead stop - no way.

I met cops on a highway in MN twice while doing about 100 mph in a 1974 Corvette. They flipped on their lights and I mashed the accelerator - I never saw them again.

I was younger then.

This one time me and my friend were planning a poker game via phone while I was driving home from the gym. I stop at a red light holding the phone in my right hand on a two lane. I noticed that the the white car next to me has a blue and orange stripes just like... police cars
Image
I didn't quite believe my eyes so I looked again and saw a blonde police woman and her face looked like this: :o + :? + + + . Now I know I am busted and just wait for the lights to turn green go over and park in the shoulder knowing that they are coming. I just admitted to the crime and took the ticket. The police here gives you three options when the stop you for minor incidents, accepting the ticket with out comment, arguing the ticket and take it to court (in wich case the amount on the ticket can go up) or admitting on the spot and get a discount on the amount on the ticket, which is pretty sweet if you know your guilty.
So no reason to argue. I knew I was gaught in the most obvious way. Just took the ticket and the dot on my DL.

Nowadays you'll just get your ticket through the mail if you do that.
