Now Ceri, knowing both of you and the fact that both of you are gentlemen, I will include you in the same description you used for Nick in your first post. However, on a recent thread on FB, he put me down, down, down for even thinking of eating chocolate covered digestives with (GASP!) coffee  . He ruled me out of order for that blasphemous statement, then proceeded to put us Yanks' independence down when I kindly reminded him of an earlier Tea Party when we unceremoniously dumped his tea in Boston Harbor (for which I blame the fanaticism of Boston Red Sox fans  ).
Tea is what my mother (RIP) gave me when I was sick, and it continues that esteemed role even today. Espresso is what I drank when I lived in Italy, and I continue that habit every morning so I can face my 100 6th graders. A bit of chocolate softened up by the heat of espresso is wonderful. When Nick comes here eventually, I will sit him down and make him see the light!
Please take pity on him

Haha - well for starters I love Italian espresso so we're on the same page there.

For dunking, have you met ginger biscuits? Ideal, dipped in either tea or coffee. They hold together Just long enough to get to your mouth.

Regarding tea parties: my wife has an Irish acquaintance who is perhaps a touch foggy on her history but is convinced that there was a famous occasion when the English threw a shipload of tea into Dublin harbour. Only those horrible English would waste good tea in that way...

Hey SBLS, might as well mention this here. You talked about how much you liked watching Doc Martin and I told you unfortunately the series ending in Louisa giving birth was the final one. Wrong wrong wrong: a new season just started here about three weeks ago, so there is more Doc Martin headed your way sooner or later. Stay tuned! :D

Cheers - C

Hell...anything is possible. They were painting custom colors over sunburst finishes at one time.

Now now Serge, lets get something straight. I didn't put you down, I just wouldn't do that. I remarked that dunking chocolate digestives in coffee was as wrong as getting in the bath with your socks on. You may well do it, have done it for years. But some part of you somewhere inside knows that it's not right and that it's out of kilter with the rest of the universe.
As for American Independence. If you recall I said that I was wholly in favour of it. I find it flattering how you copied our Bill of Rights. Just that when you declared independence you should have set up your own monarch at the same time. Now you have a succession of elected officials that all think they are king for their duration in power. They've no one to answer to and don't particularly care about the voters, especially during their second term. You need a monarch to keep them in check.

In that case, I nominate you to be our King! :D George Washington, btw, turned down the position.
Now, I have to find a pair of clean socks and take a bath in coffee and use chocolate covered digestives for soap

Another sit down? A Pow Wow? Are you getting the band back together on a mission from Brad to save an aged Tea- Party'rs home for the needy from greedy land speculators? What are you good lads up to now and is one more too many?
