ok first off i know how to palm mute there is no help there i just need tone help... every time i palm mute on recordings the thumping result of the palm muting is over exagerated causing the speakers on my pc to do that fuzzy sound that speakers do when they're pushed to their limits... the only effects i normally run the whole time are my distortion and compressor what could be the problem?

Thanks to Retroverbial and the guys I recently learned it might be the compressor.
Try doing without it altogether.
Then you might bring it back with the knobs turned back to around 8 or 9 O´clock.
Good luck!

do you mean my level setting? cause that i could do but i need the compressor to give me my trebly sound it has an attack setting that gives me a major treble boost for my tone plus the sustain is very useful

you might have to much bass being accentuated with the palm muting. try backing down on the bass frequencies a bit. its probably somewhere in the low, low mid area. 200 to 500k or so. how much adjustment do you have on your EQ? can you adjust specific frequency ranges?

Turn all of your settings on your amp and guitar to 1. Turn gain and treble to 10 and use your bridge pickup. Also works for buzzsaw. (This was on a cheap amp I picked for for free a while back too.)

Reduce your recording input levels.

+1. Exactly. It's kind of ridiculous, you're expecting it to sound fine on PC speakers? If it can't handle it, it can't handle it, either get better speakers or turn it down.

Your amp is doing the same thing? Something is not right with your guitar. I can't say exactly what but your amp should not react to your guitar with farting and flab when the volume is low.
