No worries here...they want to sell your information, which means you'll get more junk mail...but no worries there either, the postal service is ready to go out of business anyway!

BTW: I'm not familiar enough with OnStar. How does it know you've driven off-road and are injured in the snow and in need of help? Rather than just stopped in the forest for a nice cuddle with your partner? There's times we want a medevac helicopter coming to our rescue - and there's times we don't. :|

Ceri, when the airbags deploy, the OnStar center gets a message. One of the OnStar agents calls the subscriber and talks to them thru the stereo speakers. If nobody answers, the agent calls EMS and directs them to the crash location.

Hi StratoBobster: so whatever my wife and I are doing in the car parked up out in the forest late at night we need to be careful not to set the airbags off, is that right?

Good advice. Noted. Thank you. 8)

...that and watch out for snow leopards.

I understand that in many European countries, people stay in the family home until they are older (like into there 30's) than we commonly do in the U.S. It makes it necessary to seek the great (now I know why they call it "great") outdoors for certain activities.

I believe that's more in the Latin countries than the North. In Italy a guy who lives at home into his 30s is known as a "mumista". Parents who can't let go are called "bambinistas".

I left home at 16. To me, outdoor "activities" are for the sheer sport of the thing, not because of unwanted family members close by. And as far as the snow leopards are concerned, hey, I'm not bashful - let 'em watch! :D

Cheers - C
