:D 8) I just took the factory tour. It was like Crack for Guitar Lovers. The tour guide was fantastic and answered all questions. We went everywhere except inside the paint shop. Once we were in final assembly, there were 1000s of beautiful guitars every where you looked  Saw every stage of the builds. Met custom builders and the Grande Dame of pickups.
I want a job there just so I can be around all these great guitars.
The visitor center is very cool too. All of the models of guitars and amps on display.
I will go again.
I know the rest of you are jealous

Do they charge for the true? Is it ridiculously expensive? Is it a guided tour, or are you on your own. How long dose it take to complete? I am going to put it on my list of places to visit this winter. I'm Excited :!: 8) :)

Welcome to the forum bro, and thanks for sharing all the amazing pics 8)

I so need to get over to Corona for this. Its so cool that Fender went to the trouble to set this up and isnt even charging a penny for it. Fender's a company that knows how to take care of their customers - enough said.

Actually if they were charging it would still be a remarkably cool thing for them to do.

That is all they do there - build guitars 170000sqft of building guitars. ALL American made Fenders are made there and the Amps too. I think American made Gretch is there too. They also make a lot of the parts for the guitars assembled in Mexico there. The Origonal dies for stamping out the metal parts and guards are still used and still carry the dates from the 50s and 60s.
There is even a room in the visitors center where you can select the body style, woods, colors, neck, pick guards et cetera and place your order for the Custom Shop.
Price depends on what you want I would suppose.
I also found out the nice lady that winds all the custom pickups lives only about a mile or so from me. Maybe she will carpool with me LOL.
Make the pilgrimage. I will be going again.

Are you saying you got to actually meet Abigail Ybarra? Did they explain how long she's been winding Fender pickups? Since 1958! She started out grinding frets in 1956.
Video interview of Ms. Ybarra here on the NAMM site. http://www.namm.org/library/oral-history/abigail-ybarra Very interesting stuff from a living legend!

It looks like a really cool thing, and the first interesting museum tour I've heard of that's free since we were at the SPAM museum last summer :D

Thanx for the photos and info.
