in 1997 music store had a duo sonic for 200 bucks.... they guy said the owner wanted to much for it and it probably would never be worth anything.... SIGH!!!

about 4 different fender twin reverbs near mind when i was in college about 5 years ago... 400-500 each....

60sgibson music maker (they crappy 2 single coild thing that POTUSA used to use) for like 350.... now worth a few grand..

this is the long shot post...the guitars within 5 or 10 years MAX that would have been dirt cheap to by and are now fetching 5 to 10 times that amount....(none of that-- in 1971 i could have bought a 57 strat for 400 dollars... lol)

my buddy jeff bought an original walnut es335 for 500 in the late 80s,,, guitat is worth like 5 or 10 grand now.. lol.....

when i was in highscool, our carentry teacher had a 73 i think lefty tele i was gonna sell me for 500 bucks... 10 years ago, 500 bucks to a high scool kid is a million (i had just bought my gibson less paul that i saved for a year to get) and my car was always breaking down..lol) he may still have it... i am afraid to call him and ask because i dont think my wife is gonna be happy for yet another gutar i " dont need" lol

And then there are the times that you have a good deal and let it go. In 1963, I bought a 1957 Telle from a friend that was going to refinish it. He had it all torn apart and sanded when he got disinterested. He sold it to me for $25.00. It was in a grocery sack. I brushed a coat of paint on it and keep it the closet till I sold it in the 90's, just to get rid of it as I needed the closet space. It sold for $2,500.00, and thought I made a fortune. What if I would had it refinished and moved it to under the bed. what would it be worth today???

Early eighties I bought a Vibrolux/Reverb with a grey tweed/silver front for $60.00 (I was guessing early 70s). I sold it about 10years ago for $200.00. Not one of my better decisions.
