It will be 41 years ago tomorrow that the guitar playing world was devastated with the sudden of Jimi Hendrix.Although some saw his death as no surprise it still was a huge shock to loose a man who had achieved deity status in the guitar playing community. Jimi's name is still spoken in reverence by those who love his music and the message that it held. As Eric Clapton so well put it: "Jimi Hendrix was a gift who was allowed to stay with us for a while and then went back to the other gods." A fitting tribute from the very guitarists who is often called God.

Sing on Brother.

8) Let no man say that JIM was not a Gift to All music lovers of the world. In my mind He was a Child like figure of innocence, that just so happened to be one with a guitar. Neither was special without the other, but together they created a sound that will be emulated and loved forever. The pepol of Seattle are very Proud to have had him walk among us. His Memory will live in our hearts forever. His Music will live on in our Souls. :( 8)

Angel come down from heaven yesterday
she stayed with me just long enough
to rescue me
and she told me a story yesterday
about the love between the moon and the deep blue sea
and when it was time for her to go
she spread her wings her wings high over me
and she said i shall return tomorrow

and i said fly on my sweet angel
fly on through the skies
fly on me sweet angel
tomorrow i will be you by my side

Rest in Peace Jimi and thank you for all you gave us in so little a time

On the night of the news of Jimi's death,in Hendersonville,TN. where I lived, there was a hippie van parked on main street with the words,"A Great Man Is Dead,Jimi Hendrix"...painted on the side...at the time I knew all of the "heads and freaks" in the town, and I never had seen that van before or since...no clue as to who the owner was..but I always remember seeing that.
RIP Jimi...your music changed my life.

R.I.P., Jimi. Maybe we can jam some day when I get to Heaven!

Thank you for the reminder...

And thank you, Jimi, for all the joy and wonder that you generously brought into our world. Fly on, indeed.
To paraphrase Peter Frampton, Jimi opened the door, showed us what was inside, and closed the door forever.

Up until I started playing again in 2000 I was not a fan of Jimi's music. I guess my aging and learning to enjoy music more led me to Jimi. I am now a big fan and have a lot of his music on CD.

R.I.P. Jimi!!! Thank You for opening my eyes to your great music!!
