I'm a Canuck but I visit USA quite a bit. I suggest the Grand Canyon and the Oregon coast. They can both humble you and make you shut up and stare.

Have you been to Sequoia National Forrest in California yet???

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sequoia/

"The Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron Giganteum) is the world's largest tree. It occurs naturally only in a narrow 60-mile band of mixed conifer forest generally between 5,000-8,000 ft. elevation on the west $@!&# of the Sierra Nevada. There are 65-75 groves of sequoias in the Sierra, depending upon how the groves are defined."

Yep, that's another cool one. Tree trunks so big you can drive a car through them. Doncha just love how the word $l0pe is no longer useful on here. Bugs me every time.

If you make it to Texas. Go to Austin...6th steet ain't quite what it used to be but, just about any live music club you go to will simply OOZE with tha' Blues...then again there is always the time honored "Antones" blues showcase club. The fact that Austin has the University of Texas makes it a no brainer as to where all the hot girlies are! Beyond that, Memphis, TN (the birthplace of rock n' roll), Chicago. NYC is all cool and edgey but, not so known for it's Blues clubs...Chicago would be a better choice.
