Hey guys I thought I would ask this opened-ended question for fun: With both guitars and amps, Fender has released some new models over the years (some good, some awful), but we still see a lot of the old classics (the quintessential Stratocaster, for etc.) being some of the most popular guitars in history.

If YOU can design a brand new guitar for Fender, What will it be? What will it have? What catchy name will you give it? Price point? Who will it appeal to? Get technical... and all thoughts are welcome!

Notice too this is part one... I got part two on the "modern amplifiers" section:

Keep Rockin' guys

I've been thinking what my guitar would be...

Body: Imagine the tele single cutaway shape, but with modern refinements. Slimmer body, belly and forearm contours.

Pickups/Hardware: I'm thinking maybe either two plate-covered PAF humbuckers, or go with like a p-90 in the neck and humbucker in the bridge. Coil splitting for the humbuckers. the Chrome switch layout of a Tele (like the three-way, Volume and Tone) with the coil tap for the humbucker(s) on the volume knob. Strat Tremelo bridge. Locking tuners and LSR roller nut.

Body/neck: gotta go with a 3tone sunburst over a flamed maple top. Tele style neck (I am not the biggest fan of strat necks on tele bodies) and a maple fingerboard. Possibly birds eye maple neck? No pickguard either. the look has to be just wood and chrome.

That would be my guitar.... 8)

i would like fender to bring back the competition mustang... but with a kurt cobain touch to it (i'm thinking humbuckers and a 3-way switch simple wiring) and ad two new colours to that line including the ones they had (the blue/light blue, green/light green, red/yellow, black/white)

grey/black

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

A combo between a tele and les paul junior. Tele body but lp hardware. One single p-90. Thinline style pickguard...yea... Bolt on neck? Not sure yet, but I do like v-necks.
As for a name...Melocaster?

Umm a thinline strat body, three humbuckers with split coil capabilities, a soft v maple capped neck with a fifties headstock and a 9.5 radius. Hardtail bridge. Call it the Omnicaster.
