Pick (if you use one) and a tuner. GC can usually supply the cord and unless you own some obscure amp, they should have one at least similar to what you have at home. Also take some Tylenol (or equivalent) if you go on a Saturday, because that's when the 10-14-year-old shredder wanna-be's will show up in force.

Im going to try a few axes out soon at my local GC, so what do I need to bring, i know a pick, but what about a cable? An amp? A tuner? i mean idk this is new territory for me

that'd be like bringing your squeeze to the club. if you're here you can't be that new, are you joshing us again NC?
Well i mean ive tried out acoustics and I got my last guitar from a local store, which has everything within their fairly small area already designated for testing out stuff, but unfortunatly they only have Squiers, Washburns, Jacksons, and Deans, which is not what im looking for. Ive only purchased an amp, strings, picks, and a case from GC, and plus idk its just intimidating at GC, idk i always get a dick vibe from the employees.

Sorry, Tiger. A retailer by experience from an early age I gravitate to the path of least resistance hoping everyone has the same experience. I think of the store as if it's mine and so take the time to be positively curious, everyone there is a stranger in my place so if I'm engaged I have some questions, like, who are you and what are you doing in my place. Once you are kind of in tune with the store then start looking at what you went there for. Bring whatever makes you feel equipped or ready. I always have my fav. picks on me and the guitars are usually in tune. If you go in a music store and the guitars aren't in tune go to the front desk and ask for an application you might have a job if you want it.
