Zeppelin.
Their folk influence tied to a modern rock sound is a true landmark!

"A little boring"?

If you are going by sustaining cultural aspects, clearly it would be the Beatles. For the record, I much prefer their pre-psychedelic stuff but either way, I'm not a fanatic about them like so many millions are.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.

The Beatles, they would experiment. They also played the first stadium, had the first fold back system, and had the loudest audiences.

FWIW, my wife went to see the Beatles at Shea Stadium (yea, I'm showing our age). She said the screaming was so loud, she and her friends couldn't hear the music at all and their ears were ringing for the next three days.

Beatles, hands down. They were huge then, and now, and even as individuals continued to have an impact on music after the band split up. I still listen to a great deal of Beatles, White Album, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Abbey Road, Sgt Peppers, Magical Mystery, Let It Be, and the staple Past Masters Vol I and II. To me, all of these albums are still as relevant and profound today as they were some 40 years ago, and some are still played on radio. I even like the newer CD, Love, which contains some pretty cool remixes of familiar songs, sometimes combining several songs into one. 8)

The Doors or The Stooges, since they influenced punk, which influenced post-punk and hardcore, which influenced indie, noise rock, and grunge (and Melvins), which influenced most alternative rock today.

Dang it, I knew I shoulda left the Beatles out. Then the results would be more interesting. The boring Rolling Stones vs. the fun and awesome Stooges and Doors.

How about the Blind Prostitutes? You really have to hand it to them!
