It would take a team of 40 surgeons at least 29 hours just to remove the Jackass Gland from that guy. So talented, yet such a jerk!

you should get one of the belt buckle type guitar strap things. i think zztop uses them for the fancy spinning guitar thing? might need to put a huge bolt on the back of the guitar though :)

One day they are going to be able to culture some of your own stem cells and then inject them into your spinal disc where they will go mad with delight and grow you new tissue. It will be like stuffing new filling into a sagging cushion on the sofa and it will put all those chiropractors and spine surgeons on gardening leave forever. Hurry up, science.

On the other hand, the idea of multiplying Liam Gallagher's personality in a petri dish would be a terrifying disaster for the world. Growing more of that thing would be like something out of a 1950s science fiction movie. Ghastly!

Cheers - C

.....A herniated disc is the equivalent of a bleb on an automobile inner tube filled with gelatin. It is forever damaged and deformed. The size and shape of each disc is individual and particular to the vertebrae above and below which they cushion. Frankly, I don't see stem cell research as the saving grace in generating an intervertebral disc and contents, particular to one individual's C5-C6 vertebrae. That's a tall order even for today's imaginative technology.

Doc, tread soft, for you tread upon our dreams! (Which is a common misquote - because Yeats' actual line is frankly less elegant.) Some of us are hanging on and counting on science to learn a way of repairing our discs like punctured bicycle tires. No matter how improbable that might be.

Like you once said to me: ya gotta believe!

...I've just re-read the OP. I believe we've strayed a bit! :D

L5/S1 = fused, L4/L5 = ruptured and drained, L3 not turned black yet. Come on L3 I'm counting on you. If I played in a band, I would play seated. Screw standing up or walking around with a guitar strapped on, no way. Maybe I could put wheels on the bottom of my seat and scoot across the stage.

Edit: back on topic, I believe all the greats spent their lives finding their tone based on what sounded good to them. I would do the same. Find a tone that is somewhat close to them then tweak it to sound good to you.

Double Edit: Ceri, here is a link to the video talking about 7's and chambered necks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6DrxfrbbF8

Thanks for the input guys.
I learned that going from 009 to a 010 set will not throw the intonation off as much as going from 010 to a 011 set.
I use the 010 set and would hate to override the intonation that came with my strat, which is absolutely dead-on! So instead of rushing blindly to do a mod, which is what I would have normally done, I will just calm down.

I sort of expected someone to suggest I get a jazz guitar and be done with it, I am glad none of this happened and so I take it that I am officially approved by the forum to study jazz on my strat!
No jazz box for me man. Fender tone or bust.

Anyways, my younger brother is 39 and has been diagnosed with extrusions in 3 cervical discs.
He used to be quite an athlete, turns out he brought this on himself, trying to live like a pro athlete without proper supervision. He is way depressed. I feel sad to visit him and seeing him all smoked up and lamenting his deteriorating condition.

Adjusting the intonation on your guitar for a new string size is not hard at all, you just need patience.

Im rockin' the 13's on my strat! But im using the "Standard" set of 13's. Its
13-17-26w-36w-44w-56w.

But stevies strings looked like this! 13-15-22-28w-38w-56w.

And i cant find that string set anywhere! Its like a 11' string set with fatter e and E strings.

Strings are not necessarily packaged in sets. They can be obtained 'loose'. You should search the more popular makers websites and see what you can put together for yourself.

Exactly...and whether it's my imagination or not...I'll let it settle in and play for awhile and tweak it.
