Did fender (or anybody) ever make a telecaster with a humbucker in the bridge position, but still with a single coil in the neck? Just wondering. What do you think it would sound like?

To the best of my recollection, Fender never did. With so many imports, who knows? I've never seen one though.

It would sound great. With all modesty, I've customized many a Tele over the years with such a set up.

Look at my pic. (It's a home mod, but the pickguard is licensed Fender.)

Fender made a Telecaster Plus in the '90s that had a single Lace Sensor in the neck and duel Lace Sensors (Hum-bucker style) in the bridge. The Bridge had a switch that allowed you to slip the coils to use them as single coils.

I played one in wine red. Nice guitar, but I didn't have the money to buy it.

I think Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead plays one of those.

in most of the teles ive worked on the first thing to do is put a hotrails or micro hb in the bridge position, sounds very sweet...

I seem to recall Yamaha making a Telecaster-style Pacifica that had the pickup configuration you're describing sometime in the early 90's...but I may be wrong. I often am.

Believe it or not putting a hum-bucker in the bridge is pretty common. Putting a Hum-bucker in the neck spot iseems to be catching on.

I've seen a few. Recently a guy had a Tele thinline with bridge bucker and single coil neck standard. It sounded righteous!

I've got the Seymour Duncan Little '59 stacked humbucker in the bridge of my tele.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've been looking on CL and in my local guitar stores and just can't find any! I want one soooooo bad. I may just have to settle for a blacktop or a deluxe...
