guys anyone notice that the squier website has been incorporated into the fender website? (along with the custom shop) squier has been suffering loads of changes lately (the new signature models that came without warning though everyone was expecting them)... but now i've noticed something pretty weird too.. why have the jazzmaster and jaguar guitars released this year been discontinued? (true i didn't like the guitars but they were gaining a big reputation) the squier guitar line is getting pretty poor lately compared to the bass line (in terms of finishes) could this mean they're re designing their line? are they bringing the original jazzmaster and jaguar design back? could it be that squier is coming back to being a fender series?

I think that Squier has vastly improved over the last few years in term of the quality of their product. As far as their Jaguar and Jazzmaster Guitars are concerned, you can buy them at Musician's Friend, Guitar center, etc so what makes you think that they're discontinued? Aren't they part of the Classic Vibe series ?

actually they're a part of the vintage modified series... i sa this because they are no longer in the squier division of the fender website... i agree squier has improved a lot but i was referring to options

This move has nothing to do with the state of the brand itself but is more about finally acknowledging the lack of need for a separate, standalone Squier web presence. Not only was the site of questionable merit in the first place but, in addition, the old site was extremely dated both in terms of look, feel, and functionality. You'll notice that Squier products now appear right here in the Fender.com Products section which means they're actually already getting more visibility than ever.
