I remember where I was. I was in a computer class in trade school. I had already finished all my projects (Windows 101) and was cruising the internet and on a news site I saw a headline that a plane flew into WTC but didn't think off it (just shows how media has made us numb to human tragdedy), just thought that it was some nutter like the guy that flew a small plane into the White House few years before. Then another student came in and said that something big was happening. Everybody tried to get into news sites but the sites were all backed up (understandable) and I was the only one who got on one local news site because I was already there. Only then did I relise how big this was. Couple of minutes later everybody had cathered in the cafeteria and watch it on a big screen tv when the second plane hit.

These events will probably be my generation's moon landing and Pearl Harbor, in the sense everybody remembers where they were when it happened.

i vagidly remember i was in kindergarden, and we were at a 'how to ride your bike' day. and the fact that my parens weren't letting me watch TV, and they were worried. they didn't tell me or my brother about it until we were older.
so they decided to show me the footage of the WTC attacks on youtube when i was 10. frightened the crap outta me. couldn't sleep for days. in the past weeks i've watched footage again, this time i actually understood it, an it must of been so terrifying to have been there and for the families who lost loved ones.
RIP

i was in the 4th grade during 9/11 and i was going through a pretty bad phase in my life in general... the attacks happened while i was in school i was living in toronto Canada at the time parents were picking up their children at school during the morning my teacher who had family in NY just fell apart during our class after our first recess and just let it all out on us... i remember the fear of more attacks people watching other people fall to their death... i remember arriving home and hearing of the attack on the second tower... this and other events during that time really helped me grow up and see how bad things happen but we really just need to keep going cause united the world will stand

Sunday, September 11, 2011. Ten years has passed since the acts of terrorism that took the lives of 2,740 Americans and 236 foreign nationals.

I left town very early that morning, 10 years ago, driving to a training session at the district office in Steamboat Springs, CO. I was listening to music on the radio as I made my way north to Meeker, Craig, and then over to Steamboat. A report came over the radio that a plane had hit the north tower of the World Trade Center. If you recall, at that instant, no one suspected an act of terrorism. This would have been reported sometime after 0645 Mountain Time. As I continued on, the report of the second plane hitting the south tower was reported.

I switched to NPR and listened as the story unfolded over the next couple hours of my drive. I arrived in Steamboat. The training session was called to order and the instructor droned on never once mentioning the scene unfolding across the country. I sat in stunned silence, not hearing a word he said.

Finally, I couldn’t sit there any longer. I stood up and said something like: “Sorry to interrupt, but I’m having difficulty concentrating. I think we should have a moment of silence for those who have lost their lives in New York and Washington” (I don’t recall if the details of United 93 were known at this time). I continued with words to this effect, “We might also say a prayer for those responsible for this atrocity as our servicemen and women will surely seek out and take the lives of those who did this” (or something like that).

As is well known, 343 firefighters and 72 police officers died that day—running toward the smoke and flames, in some cases, again and again. This day changed all of us forever. Never forget those who lost their lives in an act of terror. Never forget those who willingly risked, and the many who gave, their lives in selfless acts of bravery on that day. Never forget those who did this, and that they will attack us again should we let our guard down. Never forget your own responsibilities as citizens of this great nation.

When I see such a display as is being broadcast this morning. I am frightened into thinking that it can happen again, and probably will, as soon as they figure out how. :( We must be constantly on guard and ready to fight back. :x I know Mine is not a popular belief, But in My view Internment /Investigation and deportation of all suspect individuals and or groups is the best way. It worked in WWII and it would work again. Fight back Americans. Don't give our Country Away :!: Remember 9-11.

Newfouldland played a big part in 9/11 as hundreds of flights were diverted here and over 50,000 people were stranded here for days while airspace remained closed over North America.School Gyms,Stadiums,Community halls, etc. were brought into play as temporary accomodations as well many people opened their homes to stranded travellers.

The memory of 9/11 is deeply etched into the heart of every Newfoundlander because of this and our shared grief and horror over the events that forever changed the way we think about freedom and our safety.

The picture that stands out most starkly to me is that of the lone jumper,it chills me to wonder what was going through his mind knowing that these were his final seconds of life.As far as I'm concerned that picture alone sums up the horror and panic of that horrible day.
