Kid, if you remember, during your Buddy Holly Stratocaster Fiasco, I was one of the ones who gave you both leeway and advice. Part of that advice was, "Don't try to pull one over on us." I also said, "Everybody gets a second chance."

You straightened up, came clean and started over. You even brought some interesting questions and comments to the Forum. We figured you learned your lesson.

However, recently you claimed to "make custom alder bodies" and posted a (small, unidentifiable) pic of the back of a sunburst Strat, and uou started claiming that you made the neck for that one, too.

Later, you stated that you won a guitar duel against a shredder who was playing an "out of tune Flying V", while you were playing a Dean Dimebag model of some sort.

There are guys here who have given you multiple chances to be truthful and chill out...I'm one of them. I (sarcastically) insinuated that you owned some mythical or extinct animals, and asked if you also dueled Clapton or Django...you didn't take the opportunity to straighten up during those gentle reminders to tell the truth.

There's no reason to believe that a 13 year old kid could make a custom alder body, and have it turn out anything similar to a good Strat. That goes double for a neck. If you COULD do such a thing, you wouldn't have just one small, grainy cell phone pic of the back of that instrument.

Also, you may or may not have "won a guitar duel", but considering your age, it's hard to believe that you're capable of cuttin' heads at all.

RebelSoul is trying to teach you a lesson that will serve you well. Just be yourself--even if that is boring--because people will see through your BS and won't respect you for it. Just be honest...or don't post at all.

Now, your teacher may be installing that pickup for you--and this is the most believable claim you've made recently--but there were some legitimate questions regarding what you were saying. Some of the people here were concerned you might be getting ripped off (if you were paying for this type of job to be done, it shouldn't take that long). But when you were questioned, you got defensive. Well, don't get your knickers in a knot--your behavior is what makes us incredulous.

Some of us just don't/can't trust you enough to take anything you say at face value. If you said the sky was blue and the grass was green, we would need proof...and it's because of your proclivity to exaggerate or out-and-out lie.

...and considering your track record of honesty, you have no right to be offended if anyone questions the statements you make.

You've used your second chance unwisely. Straighten up and tell the truth.

Great post Armadillo!
if the kid doesn't read it and take it to heart, then he has nothing to add here that most people will even believe...I think it's to that point already.
He started some of this yesterday in the vintage amp forum and I told him bluntly that we were there to help if he would listen and cut the crap....he isn't going to I think...oh well, there's a lot of wisdom and experience here in the forums that he will miss out on,I wish there had been something like this when I was his age...I learned from records and jamming with older musicians...but if I had taken his attitude those guys would have run me off, good and proper.

No doubt. Man, the guys I learned from were harsher than steel wool toilet paper. They were tough enough when I was playing well and keeping my mouth shut. In fact, in their minds the only reason I had to open my mouth was to sing.

I finally found some guys that were patient enough to answer the myriad of questions I had--but even they had their limits...and I definitely knew not to try to BS them...that would be the last time they would speak to me otherwise.

Red River Armadillo is right.
I´m glad you took the time to set the kid straight.

My beef is, why post this message about a pickup being installed?
What is the question, point of interest?
Post AFTER it´s done and talk about the results!

The kid is at that age where he wants to fit in so badly and is trying to create an identity for himself, so he makes stuff up in order to have something to say.

As far as posting that he's getting a new pickup (or pickups, I'm still not sure what's happening because kids these days are ridiculously inarticulate), I understand...if it's really happening (and that's a legitimate question, because anything he says is suspect) he's excited and enthusiastic about upgrading his guitar. It's one of the few posts that make sense.
