I just tried to remember that song, my old band actually covered it back in late 66 or early 67. G and F chords for a start. sing while your playing and you'll figure out were the song goes.

If you want to put on an accurate performance and win the show, then don't forget to destroy your equipment at the end of the song. I saw the Who in '66, they were still busting stuff up.

It does. It modulates up one full step. (from G to A).

According to Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs," "recording sounds one whole step lower than written. (Recording was slowed down.) Tune down 1 whole step to play along with recording." Accordingly, the chords to start are A and A/G. Then B and B/A. Then C and C/B flat. Then D and Dsus(9)/C. There are a few accidentals, but these cover almost all. Cheers.
