hmmm. ask Bonnie Raitt, Sonny Landreth, or Ry Cooder they could probably answer your question

I'm so sorry but I cannot help but ask how some of the people who post here come up with their questions. Not to insult anyone's intelligence but WOW! Really????
But if you are asking if a Strat could be a steel lap slide. Hmmm......Jr. Brown could answer that question for ya.

Watch this guy play.......I love his style. Sounds so damn simple but in reality...not so easy.

Hi Mark: one of the nice Fender Forum traditions is that we don't laugh at beginners for asking beginner's questions. Everyone has to find stuff out somehow, and in this case the OP is a 13 year old who's quite new to it all.

Anyhow. This gentleman has been known to use a Strat as a lap steel:

Though he more often uses his Jedson lap steel as a lap steel:

I'm not 100% sure when this was taken, but it very well could have been in a session with King Curtis,I've seen another very similar picture with Duane and Curtis if my memory serves me right....I'll see if I can find that soon.

Of course that is the Coricidin bottle DA used there, not a metal slide.

I put 10's (strings)on all my guitars and play slide on them all. Mainly my Les Paul and Stratocaster, but also my Telecaster's. I'm about it buy another guitar, strat or tele, to turn into a mean slide machine and put 13's on it.

"Laughing" was a polite way of putting it.

Ho Hum...Sooner or later they fall into line, don't they mate.? Back to the question....
though he didn't use a slide, there was always the remarkable, late, great, Jeff Healy for playing a Strat on his lap. Hope this finds things all back in order in your back yard over there.
Doc.

I'm using it as a slide guitar, because I haven't got other guitar than a Strat. But strat tone is not best choice for slide guitar, try to find something on youtube about blues guitars with better tone for slide guitar (like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJwH5hdRvv4)
