Honoring a guy who blew his brains out? Jesus how desperate do you have to be to sell a guitar ? Watch out folks they'll be hockin' the 9-11 series soon.. Yes the tuners on these guitars will be made from the steel out of the towers ....Way to go guys, I guess it's anything to make a buck eh?

Wether he killed himself or not, I don't see why that should have any influence on a guitar. He was famous, he changed the music landscape, he played Fender. His death has nothing to do with it. You know, dying in your own vomit because of drug abuse isn't something to sneeze at either, and yet Hendrix has plenty of signature stuff.

I never liked the band (sorry to all fans and no disrespect if you did), but the basics of this guitar are what I want ... what I have been looking for in a Jag. I would, however never buy a "road worn" guitar. Like I don't spend a fortune on pre shredded jeans. Wear them hard enough to beat them up yourself and play it long enough that it gets worn. Since I want a "good" Jag but with at least a 9.5" radius neck, I think I have to turn to a custom neck on a foreign made body or a custom neck, body and (oh well at that point) my own hand chosen pickups. If the metal wasn't worn too, I would probably get the KC Jag and change out the body, but with the worn metal, it won't happen. However the shape and scale fit me perfectly.

Well, I was really torn about getting one(because Nirvana is the band that got me into playing guitar, but at the same time if he was still alive, he'd never sign up for this). So I finally decided to get a sunburst 62' reissue.
I'm not saying this is a bad guitar, I just don't like the relic finish. I figure down the road I could mod it like his if i really wanted to. :)

I understand what your saying jag-stang. What I like most is that is already modded with aftermarket parts. I'm so sick of modding a new/used guitar and this is pretty close to something I would want. I don't like stock Fender pickups (no offence fender).

its funny how divided people are when it comes to Nirvana. People either love them or hate them. Its also funny that people can try to deny Kurt's iconic status. Why is it that in some peoples minds only someone with incredible technical prowess deserve a signature or tribute guitar. Kurt couldn't play like Yngwie malmsteen, but he made a few chords and passion mean something again. If you lookat it from the viewpoint of, "how many people did he influence and how many people picked up a guitar and learned to play because of his music?", then suddenly his stock as a guitarist goes way up. I love music, period. All types. And there are people who can play a million notes and say something like Eddie Van Halen, Dimebag Darrell, and Jimi Hendrix. Even Steve Vai, is very passionate. but some virtuosos come off as showoffs and thier music is cold. Kurt may not have been someone look up to, and he may not have always been honest, but his music was ALWAYS honest. That is what people connected with. He was one of us, not one of them. Isn't the point of music to connect people not to divide?
Don't forget also that he wrote the Bass and Drum parts as well, except for a handful of songs, and that in itself is impressive. There is a lot going on in Nirvana's music if you really listen closely. He made me pick up a guitar 17 years ago, and that is why my Kurt Cobain Jaguar is on order.

Keep your ears and hearts open.

Looks like no longer in stock now though. As for YouTube videos, seen this? Pretty decent.

I've never understood anybody as lacking in talent as Kurt Cobain having a signature guitar. I understand that Fender is in the business to make money (and I'm sure this thing will sell), but why make a signature guitar for someone who could barely play the guitar?

I hate to take the bait here. I've never been enamored of Cobain. But I recognized immediately, even 20 years ago, that he knew *exactly* what he wanted to do with his guitar. Musically and lyrically, he aimed for a certain feeling. He was never trying to be Vai or DiMeola or Beck, and we already have those players, so we didn't need them. He was trying to be himself, which was the whole point.

He could play "better," if by better you mean stringing plenty of 16th notes together in an articulate way. That wasn't his aim or his music.

As for "lacking talent," I look forward to the poster demonstrating what true talent is. Where may I buy your CDs or download your music, sir?

I think I missed the response to this one.

He is saying that Kurt Cobain was a great guitarist at the genre of music he played and if you are gonna talk crap about him he wants to hear your music to see if you have room to talk

How do you like it? I have seen that video although I don't think it shows the true potential to be honest.
