In my honest opinion the original Japanese movies where better than the American remakes.

You're too young to watch an R-rated movie (or whatever they call an over 17 rating in Australia).

I don't like horror movies. They're pointless and have no redeeming moral or social value. I haven't watched one in twenty years.

M15+ is the over 17 rating

actually M15+ is the over 15 rating. R18+ is over 18.
