Blertles: Who do you mean when you speak of the 'Lions'?
The British Lions is the name given to the collective UK team when touring overseas. Otherwise it's just England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland. If playing as UK in Britain, we then become the Barbarians and nomally invite various overseas players into the team.

Do they have vuvuzelas there for this year too? Can't get me enough Bb vuvuzela drone. Actually that is all myself and many in the USA remember about the last World Cup. You've got the wrong game brotherdave. That world cup was soccer, this is a game that men play, with odd shaped balls. :?

That's right I forgot...it takes leather balls to play rugby. I prefer NCAA College football in the USA. There is a rugby team at nearby Pfeiffer University.

Hi brotherdave: don't like those low soccer score lines, huh? Then don't worry, this thread is about rugby, which has a different kind of scoring system. For example, Ireland beat USA 22-10... though it was felt they should have done much better.

New Zealand and France cannot complain about their results - though no suprises. Well done to them. England-Argentina 13-9. Well, a win's a win, but...

By the way, Blertles. Dunedin sounds so like something out of Lord of the Rings. Was Peter Jackson involved in naming your towns as well?

Cheers - C

While we wait to see who the Wallabies get to beat in the final, did you see the US open tennis ?
Congratulations Samantha Stosur on a dominant performance.
Get over it Serena. You were not beaten by officials, but by a better player.

Back to the Rugby. Bring on Ireland and the USA.

AUSSIES RULE !

Australia vs USA on September 23, 2011. Thanks for posting the Rugby 101 video, it did help towards understanding the game. Even with my new rugby ed. I can't really see how USA can win against Australia on Friday. Hope that it's a good game.

Hi SBLS: don't be so sure. :)

Australia are beatable: Ireland just beat them 15-6, which is a convincing win. Mind you, Ireland also beat USA 22-10: they're small, but they're tough when it comes to rugby.

BTW: England-Georgia 41-10. I'm told that outside of the Six Nations Georgia are rated "best of the rest". So nuttin' to complain about there, from where I'm sitting. 8)

Ok, digging this one up but I thought I'd share some photos of the Wales vs. France semi-final game I went to at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday..

Tragic for Wales, Sam Warburton made a very risky tackle that could very well have cost them the chance to get into the final.. However France won the game 9-8. I heard there was a stadium filled with people watching the game on the big screen in Cardiff.. there would have been many upset fans there... but hey- good on Wales for making it this far- truly playing up to the standard of the great try-nation teams!! There was a lot of Kiwi support for the Welsh here, they were the favorite to win the game

Also last but not least is NZ All Blacks victory over Australia Wallabies.. fantastic game!! Aussie have not beaten All Blacks at Eden Park (home ground) for more years than I care to remember- plus we were confident of a victory- meaning New Zealand will play France in the Grand Final!!

Also Australia will play Wales in the bronze Final!!

Next Weekend= good weekend of Rugby!!- Looking forward to it!! :D :D :D

First two pics are from outside the stadium,l lots of street celebrations happening!!
