The DRRI is a great amp, but doesn't compare to the Egnaters... the DRRI lacks the preamp gain and tone shaping tools that make the Rebel such a great studio amp.

The SuperSonic, also a good sounding amp, is the Fender that comes much closer... But it sells new for a grand, and there's some discussion on this forum of a noise problem.

So, the OP can buy a new Tweaker combo, highly versatile and with a factory warranty, for 6 bills... Or a used DRRI on eBay for 7 bills plus shipping. I think the Egnater looks good in that comparison.

USA, Fender, great reputation as one of the best amps, rather keep the money here, etc. The Egnater can apparently get close to the Fender sound, so why not get the real thing? I have considered the Egnater, sounds really good, but like I said I would rather have a US made Fender.[/quote]

Egnater IS an American company. It's main office is located I believe in Chicago and every amp made overseas is inspected here. It's owned by Bruce Egnater a real person not a huge corporation. The DRRI is assembled here. I'm not sure where all the components come from. If you want the "real thing" you need to look outside the reissues and get a vintage amp. If you think your money stays here with Fender look again. All the people in the FMIC organization get paid in Mexico, China, Korea and everywhere Fender has a manufacturing center in the world. From what I understand, Egnater's Tourmaster series are made here in the U.S.A.
