Funny!
Man,I can only stay in the Nashville GC just long enough to get what I need and usually I'm mad before I can get out the door...I would have to take some major tranquilizers to work there....maybe that's what's wrong the most of the employees.

Every time I visit the GC in Arlington, TX, there are about 15 of those guys playing out of tune and too loud.

I saw the staff put one guy in a room by himself, so he wouldn't further pollute the already unbearable din. :o

LOL... That sounds just like GC on any given Saturday...

I don't know if I could work in a music store like that. I'd probably be homicidal after about 15-20 minutes!

I think that every big music store that has a pick-up-and- play what-you-want policy has the same problem. The St. John's Long& McQuade is a pimple squatting headbangers day care every Saturday afternoon,I'm sure that a lot of parents drop of their obnoxious offspring every Saturday just to get a break from them.I didn't realize how bad it really was until I went in one Saturday. There has been no exaggeration it is as bad as people say,5 or 6 would be shredders each with "his own" Marshall going at it full tilt with 5 or 6 different shred riffs played very poorly.I absolutely refuse to go to L&M on a Saturday and would much rather go to my regular mom&pop store Reid Music where they have an ask before you play it policy.

They should require headphones on all electric instruments, unless accompanied by a sales person.

I actually did request headphones when I wanted to demo a pedalboard, just so I could hear myself. That level of constant noise probably accounts for some of the high employee turnover in some of the music stores.

I recall the thread in the forums about going to the guitar store with a demo kit: headphones, tuner, picks and headphone amp such as the vox amplug range, a great idea.
Go equipped to try out guitars and not disturb anyone or make a public fool of yourself.

How many times have you gone into a store usually a big chain store in my experience and there is someone there who thinks they are Clapton or Santana with the "look at me...how good am i attitude" with absolutely no intention of buying the guitar!!!!

I am sure some people who want to buy their first guitar go into these stores see and listen to these "flash harry's", get cold feet turn round and leave possibly never to return.

Yeah..that look,"I'm really good ain't I?....
while they're sitting there butchering some phrase of their favorite song,I guess they practice that crap at home to come into the store and impress people, but who is impressed?
