ARE ALL STRATS MADE IN AMERICA (except for obviously the MIM and MIJ strats)
ARE ALL OF THE PARTS MADE IN AMERICA AND ASSEMBLED IN AMERICA?

this question was asked by me on behalf of and unknowledgable Aquaintence.

Budget Strat models marketed by FMIC or its wholly-owned subsidiaries are or have been manufactured in Korea, China, and India as well.

A MIA model *may* contain some non-US made parts.

Also Indonesia, Brazil and Japan.

They're made everywhere!

Not a stupid question. I've wondered that, too.

A stupid question would be, "Why do I get a funny feeling in my tummy when I see a recent picture of Emma Watson?"

If you don't know the answer to that one, you're going to need to sit down and have a long talk with a trusted older male relative.

"Well, you see, Johnny, girls are magical and they have a special magic power over boys..."

I know Japanese strats to be good instruments. Now, I have heard both good AND bad stories about the Mexican strats. I also bought a Chinese-made squier to bring out and about, love the ceramic pickups on it but unfortunately it gives me tuning problems. Finally, I was able to upgrade to a CS strat, wondering if it was all just a myth. No myth. The craftmanship is so amazing, I could go on and on. I thought my japanese strats from the 80´s would be more coveted, not many showed interest or would pay decent money. They are going to my kid and my nephew. Can someone share their experience with the Mexican 50´s strat? I am thinking of replacing that squire which won´t stay in tune!

I have a 99 MIM 50's strat and I love it. It has a great neck (soft V). Never had any problems with it. In my opinion I like the neck as much as the Clapton strats I've tried. Hmmm....oh yeah I also have an 80's MIA standard and a MIA Diamond Anniversary strat and if I had to keep only one it would be the MIM 50's. haven'y done any mods to it except to line the underside of the pickguard and the pickup routes with copper foil to eliminate hum.
