This looked interesting to me - saw it a minute ago on CNN. No more excuses for being out of tune?

It's interesting; it was reviewed in Guitar Player 6-9 months ago. If you don't mind butchering your guitar to install it, it may be for you. I'll stick with stretching out the strings, wrapping enough turns on the tuners, and using Graph Tech saddles instead.

At a price of $480, mandatory desecration of every guitar it would go into and no data in terms of long functionality or durability, I'm more than content to continue (re)tuning my guitar 'manually' whenever and wherever required (which isn't a whole lot to begin with). Besides, for that kind of money, one is easily in the ballpark for a decent guitar or amp!

How come the names, "Buzz Feiten" and "Earvana" come to mind?

As always, the above is merely IMO where YMMV.

I'm with you guys. I don't mind tuning at all and would never rout out my guitar for that thing. Still think it is interesting though :) .

"Only cowboys stay in tune." -- Jimi Hendrix

Of course I can't tune it while I'm playing, like he did, but I don't jerk and yank on the whang bar like he did, either. I'll stick to the tried, true and tested old-fashioned way of tuning, with the aid of a modern electronic tuner.
