Oct. 1st our band, The Toys, will be playing in the Finals at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland OH. Representing Mattel, the Toys have been around since 1995, and for our shows we proudly feature Fender amps, guitars and basses.

My main amp for our shows is a 1965 Fender Bandmaster restored into a 2x12 combo cab; I couldn't have done it without the help and advice of a lot of the fellow Fender Lounge friends who helped me ensure I did it right.

More info? Like our page at www.facebook.com/thetoysband

thanks!

Thanks guys. Bandmaster is a true 65 head that was rescued after almost being thrown away; got a lot of help and recommendations from guys in the Fender lounge on what to rebuild it with.

Cabinet is not stock, although I do get a lot of double takes from people who look at it. JD Newell did the cab, and it currently has 2 Weber California ceramic 12's with the aluminum dust caps. It's my main gigging amp.

We're looking forward to Cleveland and will post pics and videos on Facebook.com/thetoysband.

That's a mighty remarkable achievement, nedo!

Your new restored Showman should fit the band's vibe perfectly.

(I dig those green sneakers but who in the hell is that wag wearing the MATCHBOX T-shirt?)

RAWK ON!

8) 8) 8)

that would be our other guitarist, who is a Matchbox designer - Mattel owns both Hot Wheels and Matchbox brands. And he's quite good.

Geez, I really need to get out more......

When I was a kid, Matchbox was owned by a British conglomerate named Lensey.

:D

Yep - Lesney did own them, but then they were spun off to Tyco Toys, which Mattel acquired in 1997. I still have a MBX vinyl case with all the cars in it from when I was a kid, and most are the Lesney vintage.

Indeed, Mattel had quite an empire. At one time they also owned Monogram and I still have some Mattel-marked kits in my stash of un-built model planes.
