Name a couple of your favorite soundtracks.

The first one that comes to mind is "Ray." It won a ton of awards in 2004, including a best actor nod for Jamie Foxx. Below the surface though, this film relied almost entirely on the musical influences that Ray Charles had brought to the industry through the years. What the soundtrack did was point out the most moving works, and served as an homage to his musical legacy.

Another that I really like is the "Forrest Gump" soundtrack. This soundtrack really broke the mold when it came to having successful songs inspired by a film. 35 songs are crammed onto 2 discs, and it becomes basically a list of who's who in the music business from the years the film spans.

So, what do/did you like ?

Hmmm... that's a tough one. The first that comes to mind is "Goodfellas". The next would probably be "Casino".

"O, Brother, Where Art Thou" (both the songs and the score) and "That Thing You Do!" (most amazing collection of retro songwriting and production ever, plus a great underscore by my main man Howard Shore).

O Brother has a fantastic soundtrack, and keeping on the Tarintino thing, Reservior Dogs has a great one too.

I also love The Bourne trilogy music, good stuff.

Oh and Coffee and Cigarettes has possibly one of the best soundtracks ever!

Hmm....I don't have a favorite...but if you're looking for a soundtrack that's loaded with examples of great guitar playing...on a strat...look no further than the Lethal Weapon stuff. The Clapton/Sanbourne stuff was awesome...

OOOHHH....The mention of Clapton made me think of another that has to be in my top list. "The Color Of Money", I love that one, I've been trying to tab out the solo to Claptons "It's In The Way That You Use It" for the longest time.

Eddie and the Cruisers 2. The music was done by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.
