Back in the day I had both black and white coily cables. And the crackling effect came with it at no charge.

I don't cotton to curly cords. They are heavy and I feel them constantly pulling me back like a spring action.

My present wireless I use for my bass is a Samson dual antenna that I've had for about 15 years. Knock on wood but it's worked flawlessly all this time and not once have I had interference.

Keep in mind, I'm no pro either. I spent around $275 for it at the time I got it and mounted it in a gig/rack bag to keep it safe and secure. Great for playing at church too from the standpoint that it amps my signal nicely through the snake.

That's one ugly, outdated guitar. It has this weird pick guard that actually sticks out and is clipped on.

Hello Mr Skirt: not partial to a Les Paul Deluxe, huh? Well, that's how they looked in 1972, so you pays your money, you takes your choice, I guess.

Personally, I love a LP with a pickguard. That's the way they were in the Garden of Eden and it's good enough for me. :D

Hi Steve: I still remember the first time I used a decent quality (straight not curly, sadly) cable and discovered that the crackling noises were not obligatory. Quite a revelation.

While wireless is great if you're running all over the place, you'll still see a lot of stars using cables, since a OK cable is better than most wireless systems under $500.

Friends of mine have had success with the stompbox-style Line 6 wireless, which solves the problem of wireless with a pedalboard.

I use George L's for amp to pedalboard, entire pedalboard, and then pedalboard to guitar. No noise, no problems. A strip of gaff tape and the power and amp audio line are out of the way on stage.

I was just watching some videos and the pros walk all around and stuff and you never see them trailing a cable to an amp or pedal board or anything.
How does this work? Is it some sort of wireless system? If so, how much are those and where can I get one?

Nope it's all magic... are you telling me that you are the only guitar player that isn't a warlock also :?:
