I'm starting to notice people "texting" in their posts lately. We have survived on this board for a long time without having to put up with that nonsense. Please speak English when you post on this forum. I, for one, don't want to see and of that "gr8, ppl, cu l8r" bull on this board. I propose that we, the knowlegable geezers on this forum who have the answers the young folks want, refuse to comment or provide answers to threads and questions from people who can't bother to learn how to use and speak their own English language.

it really annoys me when people talk like that. an i'm 15. if i do rarely text, i dont spell my words like that, and the people that do are lazy morons (not directed at anyone).

Sorry Danny, but as much as I like you I have to disagree. It doesn't make anyone a jerk at all. Even the forum has spell check and I'm not an anthropologist or some kind of double-naught spy that can read encrypted messages. No one said if you can't spell don't post. Even in my business and private life when I text, I spell the whole word. Most text plans don't charge by the character any more. How about if someone can't communicate, don't. Not everyone texts. There is a place for it. I don't see people correcting peoples grammar too much here. Responding sometimes we all spell stuff wrong. Maybe we should have a texting section of the forum and keep us Geezers out. No offense meant to anyone.

Danny, I'm with you on that one. Some of my clients won't pick up a phone to talk, but they'll text till their fingers fall off. I'm seriously stuck in textville. These guys have to remember that some of us came from a time before answering machines and call waiting. If someone wasn't home, you just called them back later.

The brand names of my motorcycles are BMW and KTM. Those are acronyms and that is completely different. "gr8" is not an acronym. Does it stand for Grand Republic Eight? No? What then? What's the "G" stand for? Duh.
