:) We the people have been debating the prows and cons of labor unions since the concept was put into place.Traditionally folks that belonged to a labor union earned higher wages, better benefits, Medical Insurance/Vacation/Retirement and the list goes on. It all boiled down to living a better life. At the same time the workers were enjoying a higher quality of life, The cost of producing goods and services went up&up&up. The spiral was so intense that a lot of companies pulled up stakes and left for better parts. That was the lowd gushing sound that (ROSS PEROT) spoke of. Remember him? Non union companies have been in some cases unfairly acused of UN American like practices when it comes to the subject of wages and benefits. But likewise some are not wrongly acused but on the money and fit right in. Fender & Gibson are prime examples of companies that do there best to produce a quality American Made line of products. as well as a line of foreign made products at a much lesser price. South of the border usually equates to lower wages. The Boeing Co. is another example of a company that has begun the practice of (OUT SCORSING) component parts for there products. In other words going overseas. Boeing has also been acused of intentionally moving a factory to a non union state to avoid paying union wages to Highly Skilled Machinist's. We need to force American companies to keep there manufacturing on American Soil that alone will create jobs and that will intern increase the demand for goods and services and play a big part in rebuilding our economy. Boycott Foreign made! (Exclusively By AMERICAN) :) :)

The war against illegally imported wood products didn't start with the Gibson investigation. The Bush administration went to war on just about anything to protect the wood industry, including tariffs on Canadian lumber. the Lacey Act amendment was co-sponsored by Republicans and Democrats. According to the link the major proponents of the amendment were those in the flooring industry. I doubt that the flooring industry is Democrat-only institution.

Reading other sources on the internet (who knows how true) some of the wood at Gibson was improperly labeled when imported, and the supply came in a roundabout way to essentially to launder the source.

Hardly sounds like an Obama-sponsored conspiracy.

You've got to be KIDDING!!!!!!!! :?
I guess that's why people have risk their lives trying to get here from oppression and communist countries!!

I best find another thread before I say.......something I shouldn't.

Nope, not kidding in the slightest. In this country, and I'm sure most others in this world. Money is powerful. Capitalism takes the money from those at the bottom and gives it to those at the top, thereby those at the bottom lose their voice...so to speak. Communism just skips right past the smoke and mirrors that 'capitalism gives everyone a fair chance  ' and oppresses those at the bottom. With a 14.3 trillion dollar deficit I don't see how ANYONE could still agree with capitalism, that system is the reason we are in this mess in the first place. The fact that anyone still buys that garbage is beyond me. I figured by this point people would start realizing that they were being lied to.

Geez, Louise... If people are thinking that capitalism has caused our current deficit problems, America is lost. I think I'll go build myself another guitar from illegal flooring... and then I may as well hang myself. :?

what kind of union would guitar manufacturers have? i really hate this stuff.think about what would happen to the value of a les paul if the government has it's way. maybe it's a way for the democrats to get revenge on rock and roll....you know sence the p.m.r.c. was made a mockery of a while ago. you think about it, it's so rediculus it's funny.time for a change boys and girls this an't no way to run a country.hey....maybe all guitars will be made with maple boards they'll just stain them darker to immitate a rosewood one.

Capitalism made this country great. It is corruption/globalism, not capitalism, that is screwing it up. If someone is a terrible guitar player, does that mean that the guitar is the problem?

Why does it have to be Bush's fault or Obama's? The political conspiracies are ridiculous.

I have learned in my life that if at all possible, never, ever allow the government to make your decisions for you - elected officials of any type are typically self seeking, self important hypocrites of the first order.......politicians are not to be trusted - ever.

.....with that said; I stoked up the Deluxe Reverb and plugged in the Telecaster for some outstanding blues tonight. How do ya like them apples?????
