I started my professional career in the 60's. I picked up a lot of Beatles and that era bands, Cream influenced my playing, then an avalanche of bands came. Allman bros., ZZtop. Now I can sound just like Billy Gibbons and Gary Moore, but copy all of George Harrison's licks too.
