Just purely having some fun this afternoon: show us your Fender tat! I know a number of you have posted incredible pics of your Fender tats in the past here. We'd ask that you post photos of any ink related to our logo, instruments and amps on our Facebook wall at http://www.facebook.com/fender. Feel free to share them here again as well!

Saw this while playing at Spring Break '11 in Texas.
Not sure if it's real.
Pennebaker wasn't sure if it was one of the models or not....(face pic withheld)

No, it just means that you don't feel a need to impress others by drawing stuff on your skin.... Not sure who that impresses anyway.

As you can tell, I think tats are pretty stupid... I especially like how they look after a few years, when they get faded and blurry.... :)

Of course, "tramp stamp" removal should be a booming business in a few years!!

Still waiting for my 1st Fender to be made and shipped to me, so obviously no Fender tat just yet.
I don't really have anything agains tats, but I do think they have to mean something significantly to the person who gets one.
It will have to be something indicating a special time in your life, a life changing event, something static or an accomplishment.
I have one tattoo. It's an old Viking design, and a symbol supposedly aiding you in going in the right direction (making the right choices) in life, and giving peace, love, strength and harmony in your home. This is the design I chose to have put on me (and on my wife) when I proposed to her and she said yes. We were smart enough to NOT have a name included in it - you just never know what life brings you. But I thought it was a nice symbol to celebrate meeting the love of your life. Should that part of my life eventually end (which I fortunately doubt), then I still have Viking heritage and so many other things that are significant in it.
My 2nd tat will be made shortly. It will be to celebrate a massive weigh loss and to act as a daily reminder to NOT let things ever slip again. A wrist band tat will work wonders to accomplish this. It will have to be a tat, or I could be tempted to eventually just not wear it. This is something I have to do to stay accountable to myself.

...just to let the nay-sayers understand what lies behind the tattoo philosophy of a very casual tattoo fan. I will never be covered in ink or anything like that. But the one (soon two) that I have are really important to me. They're not to impress anyone. I couldn't care less about that. They're for me. Only me.

Now, to stay on topic: When my bass arrives, I will give it 10 years, and if I am still playing that same bass I will get a Fender tat. :)

Kingkeld.

With all of 75 posts, you aren't exactly Jack Anderson here either Monty. "SCRAM" is not how we treat our Fender brothers and sisters here.

Monty, Monty, Monty! Now why are you all workrd up, I bet you have a Smurf tattoo that someone put the feet on backwards.

This isn't the place to get nasty with people, actually, there are no threads that you should get nasty.

Now that we've established that, take a deep breath, suck it up and spend the money to get your tattoo fixed or removed.

I stand behind my post.
Admin starts a cool thread and a dude that has been here 3 days calls the subject of the thread stupid.
Trust me, I'm not "all worked up".

Plus, the LP in his avatar just rubs me the wrong way

Hey Montel,
No need to apologize, I understand guys like you...
About the LP, don't fret... I also have an 80s 67 Reissue strat, a 50th Anniversary Strat, and a really cool 1982 Squire 70s Strat I bought new.... Oh, and a 94 P-Bass... I have lots pf guitars and love them all...

About your 'newbie' comment, yup, you have a few more posts here than I do... But I've been a professional musician or recording engineer for most of my life, now in my 40's.

What's your credentials, seeing that I'm such a newbie...?

Oh, and lastly, I don't like tats....Don't take it so personally... Most of my friends have them, and I tease them too. I stand by my opinion, and didn't think I would be asked to "scram" on a Fender forum.
Guys on the Gibson, Mesa and Pro Audio forums have much thicker skin than you it seems.

My GOD, when did posting in forums about our love of guitars, a search for knowledge about them, or our love (or hate) about tattoos become about "credentials" ?. The topic of the thread is "Show us your Fender tat !" NOT "DO you like Fender tats ?" Everyone is entitled to their opinion (in the proper place). Can't we all just get along, stop acting like a bunch of four year olds and play nicely in the sandbox together??

Exactly what I was trying to say.

"Guys on the Gibson, Mesa and Pro Audio forums have much thicker skin than you it seems."

Yep, if after 3 days on the Gibson site I popped into a thread on SGs and said I think SGs are stupid I'm sure I'd be welcome with open arms

Done with this, I'm not getting into the internet "street cred" battle, sorry.
