Not looking good for Gibson. The first raid in 2009, then the flood that shut down the factories for months and now another raid by the feds. Expect a price jump on Gibson Guitars????

Check out this local Nashville breaking news video that just got posted today.

I guess My take on this so called dilemma is. Why, Are my TAX $$ going to the support of foreign endangered species laws? Sounds a lot like more "BIG BROTHER" !@#$ at my expense. I realise that we have federal regulations on the import of endangered species materials. In my opinion if foreign governments don't enforce there own laws WHY SHOLD WE do it for them?

+1!

The most significant contribution a tree makes is what it becomes after you cut it down and kill it.

If it's OUR LAW,enforce it or change it. If it's some other country doing the squawking, let them enforce there own laws. And I might add at there own expense :!:

+1 This is just another case of OVER REGULATING an industry and our current administration trying to pick winners and losers. These "LAWS" they are enforcing are so bent in one direction that Gibson will have to prove its innocence to a standard that there is no way possible they can. Gibson, sorry but you are being so screwed...and this will be just another manufacturer being pushed to the limit and forcing them to take jobs overseas.

The Administration is using Agencies to do what they have not been able to otherwise...We need to get rid of Department of Education, Dept of Energy, Dept of Labour and last and certainly not least the EPA!

Don't be happy about this, if they are after Gibson, it is only a matter of time before they start looking at Fender!

FWIW

Fender has been forced to do the "Potomac Tap-Dance" a number of times already.

No guitar is worth destroying a natural habitat and the possible extinction of an animal species.

If you can get the materials responsibly elsewhere, as Fender does, there's no excuse.
